RCA Station Transmission Line Foundations & Civil
Beaver, WV
The Great Lakes Construction Co. is working to bring electrical service to a new business park development in Beaver, WV. As part of our scope of work, Great Lakes is installing 28 drilled concrete foundations that will support transmission line poles. In addition, we are performing the civil work for the new substation which includes a 23,000 cubic yard cut, access roads, drainage ditches, a retention pond, and a substation pad. The projects are extremely challenging due to the mountainous terrain and hard rock subsurface conditions. The build teams have done a great job planning and safely executing both projects, which are on track to be completed as scheduled.
