PILE DRIVER

Location: Cincinnati, OH

 

JOB PURPOSE

Pile Driving is a critical part of the construction process, and the responsibility of a Pile Driver is driving steel beams and sheet piling into the ground, rigging materials, and welding steel.

 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Steel sheet piling installation with a vibratory hammer
    • Bridge abutment and pier H-pile installations with impact hammer and pile leads
    • Rigging, torch, and welding work
    • Troubleshooting quickly and efficiently, analytical ability to find solutions to difficult technical problems
    • Reads, understands, and interprets operating manuals, blueprints, and drawings
    • Positive interface with project superintendents, shop supervisors and field support personnel
    • Maintains conformity to safety requirements and other regulations
QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education/Experience
        • A minimum of 2+ years of pile driving experience required
        • Previous vibratory/impact pile driving experience preferred
        • Welding and rigging experience preferred
        • Pile driver training and certification beneficial but not required
        • OSHA safety certifications a plus

FIELD SUPPORT COORDINATOR

JOB PURPOSE

The responsibility of a Field Support Coordinator is to oversee the warehouse and yard, facilitating a variety of administrative and order processing tasks.

 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Coordinates the yard and warehouse personnel
    • Receives, processes, and follow-ups on project orders from jobsites
    • Supports the Field Support Superintendent with administrative tasks as required
    • Verifies and reviews jobsite order processing
    • Ensures supplies are shipped to the appropriate project
    • Efficiently processes delivery permits
    • Maintains a positive and customer-oriented approach
    • Assists in trucking dispatch
    • Operates forklift and other material handling equipment
    • Manages a variety of tasks in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment

SURVEY PARTY CHIEF

Location: Southwest, OH

JOB PURPOSE

The Survey Party Chief role is responsible for preliminary, location, and construction surveys; specifically, layout of structures, including bridges, retaining walls, and noise walls.

 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Responsible for leading a one-man survey crew in required project layout staking operations
    • Accurately reads and interprets engineering plans
    • Assist the Survey Chief in scheduling with Project Superintendents and Survey Coordinator
    • Actively communicates with project supervision, Survey Manager or Coordinator daily or as needed
    • Generates all project stakeout data information from survey software
    • Operate survey instruments such as robotic total stations, data collectors, GPS, and other standard survey equipment to collect field data
    • Interpret construction plans, perform necessary calculations in the field, and perform construction layout
    • Create legible and accurate field notes
    • Upload/Download data files and photographs
    • Set up, maintain, and operate all field survey equipment, vehicles, and supplies
    • Provide technical expertise to staff and customers
    • Promote Safety, Quality and Efficiency
    • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education
      • High School Diploma
    • Minimum Experience
      • Candidates with 5 years’ experience as a Survey Crew member

EARTHWORK SUPERINTENDENT

Location: OH, WV, PA

JOB PURPOSE

The Earthwork Superintendent is responsible for the safety, quality, efficiency, and timeliness of the project. This position will provide on-site coordination for all phases of the project, including material, equipment, subcontractors, and labor. While there are specific responsibilities and expectations described below, it  is essential that the Earthwork Superintendent be organized, possess good judgment skills, communicate effectively, and have technical knowledge.

 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Assist Estimating with production rates, manpower needs, and equipment needs at the time of bid
    • Develop, refine, and update the project schedule
    • Complete knowledge and understanding of contract drawings/specifications
    • Understand project costs and manage company assets
    • Create and manage project documentation
    • Coordinate project operations including subcontractors and material vendors
    • Knowledge of all regulations to ensure all aspects of the project are compliant
    • Provide leadership and maintain effective working relationships with the on-site staff

PROJECT ENGINEER 

LOCATION: Northeast, Ohio & Southwest, Ohio
JOB PURPOSE

The Project Engineer (PE) is an integral part of the project team working closely with Estimating, Project Management, and Operations. As such the roles and duties of the PE are very diverse and include the following: Establishing production rates for field crews, coding project time, documenting completed quantities, maintaining SWPPP documentation, preparing two-week look-ahead agendas, maintaining force account records, maintaining as-builts, assisting with submittals and transmittals, etc.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Assist Project Manager and Project Superintendent with all aspects of project start-up, project management, and project close-out; including, but not limited to:
        • Project schedule
        • Scope review
        • CPM schedule updates
        • Labor cost comments
        • Daily Reporting
        • RFI’s, T&M’s, Change Orders and Cost to Complete
        • Development of submittal schedule
        • Collect delivery and material tickets

BRIDGE SUPERINTENDENT

Location: Northeast, OH

ABOUT THE JOB               

The Bridge Superintendent is responsible for the safety, quality, efficiency, and timeliness of the project.  This position will provide on-site coordination for all phases of the project, including material, equipment, subcontractors, and labor.  While there are specific responsibilities and expectations described below, it is essential that the Bridge Superintendent be organized, possess good judgment skills, communicate effectively, and have technical knowledge of concrete and steel bridge structures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, refine and update the project schedule
  • Complete knowledge and understanding of contract drawings/specifications
  • Understand project costs and manage company assets
  • Create and manage project documentation
  • Coordinate project operations including subcontractors and material vendors
  • Knowledge of all regulations to ensure all aspects of the project are compliant
  • Provide leadership and maintain effective working relationships with the on-site staff
  • Enforce Safety, Quality, Efficiency and Core values
  • Develop daily crew lists and manage field activities to ensure project completion date is met
  • Lead weekly foreman meeting
  • Develop two-week forecast to proactively identify issues that could lead to problems and facilitate solutions
  • Maintain regulatory compliance for projects
  • Ability to interface and maintain good relationship with owners

 REQUIREMENTS

  • Civil Engineering or construction-related degree preferred with no less than 10 years of progressive responsibility supervising bridge-focused construction projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask on complex projects
  • 10+ years construction-related experience
  • Able to meet deadlines and driven to closure
  • Ability to read construction drawings and understand specifications

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time exempt position, the workweek for employees is normally considered 40 hours. However, the greater emphasis is placed on meeting the responsibilities assigned to this position.
