Dock Repair

Project 989-17
Cleveland, OH

Many miles of steel sheet-pile bulkhead walls have been constructed over the years to support the banks of the “Crooked River.” The renowned manufacturing company hired The Great Lakes Construction Co. to replace a portion of wall by placing new steel sheet-pile sections in front of the original sheets. At Project 989-17, the Pile Driving crew installed a river wall, an anchor wall and tie-rod anchors to connect the two. This important facility has existed on the Cuyahoga Riverfront since the turn of the century – the last century – when products manufactured here were loaded directly onto river vessels and railroad cars which ran along the riverbank. The formerly bustling industrial center is now occupied by a state-of-the-art research and development center. Great Lakes Construction was proud to be invited to make infrastructure improvements to this dynamic corporate campus.
