The Cleveland Metroparks awarded Great Lakes a GMP amendment for the rehabilitation of the approximately 100-year-old Hinckley Dam in the summer of 2023. This past fall was spent developing water control plans, dewatering, and installation of access to the work zone work. After initial weather delays, work commenced in earnest in February. The project includes enhancing and rehabilitating the concrete spillway providing additional mass and strengthening and raising earthen dam to provide better protection against severe flooding. The work on the dam and spillway is expected to finish up late this year. Next year, Great Lakes will perform dredging operations at the south end of the lake to enhance the accessibility for recreation on the lake.
