Boat Loader

This large structural steel project included the installation of a large and complicated belt-conveyor system with shuttle drives and chutes completing withing a tight timeframe during the Owner’s operational shutdown. The scope of work involved demolition of the existing Boat Loader, installation of pilings and foundations for the new structure, installation of the new structural steel Boat Loader structure with FRP siding and roofing, installation of the new Control Room and Electrical Room at top of Boat Loader structure.

Relevant quantities: 54 EA 14” diameter driven pipe piles (total 4,550 LF).  190 CY concrete (foundations).  Streel Erector scope included 265 tons of structural steel (including 800+ individual structural elements and over 13,500 bolts) and approximately 18,000 SF siding and roofing panels.  550 LF of 6-foot-wide conveyor belt installed by Great Lakes as part of belt-conveyor installation.
