Our Millwrights added a new owner performing several jobs at a steel manufacturer in Mansfield for their two-week maintenance outage. In the Hot Strip, Great Lakes worked at the de-scale pipe area as well as their coil transfer buggy. In the Melt Shop, crews performed the installation of a new slag skimmer, changing out mast cylinders on electric arc furnace #8 and welding new wear plates on material storage hoppers. Our crews worked multiple shifts, through the holiday, as well as weekends to complete all the assigned projects. Staying safe during these fast-pace outage projects is always a concern, and our crews did a great job of recognizing the hazards and planning around them.
