Performing work for a large industrial manufacturer, The Great Lakes Construction Co.’s Millwrights completed a recent update to the assembly line. Work consisted of the removal and replacement of several large machines, some weighing up to 80,000 pounds. All equipment either being removed or installed had to be maneuvered throughout the plant with adroit precision. Crews started on February 15th, working around the clock in close proximity with other trades – such as pipefitters, electricians and tinners – to complete the outage. The Millwrights also worked very closely with onsite equipment representatives, making certain that all equipment was installed properly and according to the manufacturer’s expectations. Work was complete March 10th.
