The progress on the project really took off in the second and third quarter of 2020. Grading of waste and subgrade was completed in June and the installation of the 760,000 SF three-layer liner system consisting of a Geosynthetic Clay Liner, Flexible Geomembrane Liner and Geocomposite Liner was finished up within the following month, when the cap system replacement began being placed. The cap, which consists of 26,570 CY of C-Fines & 26,750 CY of vegetative cover, was completed in September. The 16-Acre project site was stabilized with seed immediately following the vegetative cover completion. By the first week of October Great Lakes demobilized from the project site after project completion.
