This Project involved excavating and installing a new 250’ concrete tunnel in the coal yard while working with FirstEnergy to maintain coal deliveries and keep the plant operational. Our engineering department had to design a sheeting system that had to maintain the coal pile while protecting our employees and allowing construction to progress. Sheetpile, excavation, and cast in place concrete were performed on an accelerated schedule to meet the owner’s needs.
