The Great Lakes’ Millwrights added a new owner performing several jobs at a steel manufacturer in Mansfield, Ohio for their two-week maintenance outage. In the Hot Strip, Great Lakes worked at the de-scale pipe area as well as their coil transfer buggy. In the Melt Shop, crews performed the installation of a new slag skimmer, changing out mast cylinders on electric arc furnace # 8 and welding new wear plates on material storage hoppers.
Staying safe during these fast-pace outage projects is always a concern, and our crews do a great job of recognizing the hazards and
planning around them.
