This project is part of the overall construction of a new tube steel mill for V&M Star. This project provides rail access to the new mill. As part of this project Great Lakes Construction redeveloped 105 acres of brownfield property into a new industrial park. Work included excavation for new yard tracks, embankment construction, removal of unsuitable materials and backfill with granular material, installation of new storm sewers, new railroad sub-ballast and ballast as well as 45,000 track feet of new rail.
